The RAPS (Ram-Air Progression System) course training lasts at least 6 hours commencing at 0900, usually on a Saturday although for groups courses can be run on any day. The training covers all aspects of the descent and provides you with all the information you require to make a safe solo static line descent from 3,000ft where the canopy is opened automatically as you jump from the aircraft. Once the canopy is open you will be guided by radio to a safe, soft, on target landing.
RAPS Course £280
Active Skydiving will not recommend using the old round parachutes due to the low performance of the canopies, the hard landings and therefore the increased possibility of injury.
AGE AND WEIGHT LIMITS
The minimum age limit for all skydiving by law is 16, under 18 parental consent is required. For those over 40 a medical form (provided by us) must be signed by a doctor, ladies over 35 are strongly advised to select the tandem jump. The maximum weight for RAPS is 14 stones and for tandem it is 16 stones, glasses or contact lenses do not present a problem.
